Due to budget issues two years ago, my position was cut to 5/7ths time, which means I taught 4 periods a day and had one prep...and only got paid 5/7ths of my salary....Which really sucked - I didn't work so

Yes, dear, teachers DO work at home during the summer. As I look across the room at my couch, I see several new teacher's editions that I went to school only yesterday to pick up for my perusal.
Only I must do more than persue--I must pour over them and actually LEARN stuff so I'm ready to teach from them in a couple of weeks! YIKES!!

But maybe I should start a countdown to the END of my school year... MUAW HA HA!
My BFF was a teacher here in the Fairfax County school system and went through the same thing, Her oldest daughter just went through it this summer. BBF retired when they were putting her classroom in a trailer. Daughter quit her job and a week later was hired full time with better conditions. But see in your lasest post that all came out good for you.
